Challenge
The company’s production flow had specifics that standard ERP modules couldn’t cover: multi-stage manufacturing with intermediate products, subcontracted work, long-term contracts (blanket orders) with staged work orders, and printed documents that must follow internal formats. Manually keying in data from supplier PDF documents also drained the team’s time.
Solution
We implemented Odoo and built a suite of custom modules that bend the ERP to the business process — not the other way around:
- Multi-stage manufacturing flow — production orchestration per finished-goods template, with manufacturing and subcontracting routes automatically added to sales order lines and intermediate products.
- Blanket orders + work orders — work order (SPK) templates on long-term contracts, complete with a wizard for splitting staged goods receipts.
- Custom documents — vendor delivery notes, custom invoices, and shipping plaques matching company formats.
- PDF reader service — a companion service that extracts SKU distributions from PDF documents and links them across lines automatically.
- Product material configuration — intermediate material flags, components, and vendor routes; granular role-based access rights.
- Docker-based deployment for consistent environments.
Results
- The company’s real production flow is reflected directly in the ERP with no manual workarounds.
- Operational documents (work orders, delivery notes, invoices) come out of the system in official company formats.
- Supplier PDF data entry that used to be manual is now automated.
- Purchasing, production, and finance teams work on the same single dataset.
